Emergen is a safety communication platform designed to help bystanders contact a registered emergency contact during urgent situations using a secure QR code system.
Information We Collect
When users create an Emergen profile, they may voluntarily provide limited personal information such as:
- Name
- Emergency contact phone numbers
- Optional medical information (if entered)
This information is used only to enable emergency communication after a QR code linked to the user is scanned.
How Information Is Used
Emergen uses this information solely to:
- Allow bystanders to access critical emergency details.
- Enable secure masked calling between bystanders and emergency contacts.
- Enable secure masked SMS communication when needed.
Emergen does not use personal data for advertising or marketing.
Phone Number Privacy
Emergen uses secure communication services to connect bystanders and emergency contacts. Personal phone numbers are not shared between users during calls or messages. All communication is routed through temporary relay numbers for privacy protection.
Data Sharing
Emergen does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties. Information is only accessed when a QR code is scanned during an emergency situation.
Data Security
Emergen takes reasonable steps to protect user information and limit access only to what is necessary for emergency communication.

Emergency Contact SMS
When an Emergen app user designates an emergency contact, that contact's phone number is used solely to deliver emergency-triggered SMS messages and an initial Welcome SMS. Emergency contacts can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Their phone number is never shared with third parties and is only accessed when an emergency event is triggered by the app user.
